I’m back from a week long, whirlwind trip to the Big Apple. The purpose of my trip was to attend a business conference for interior design professionals, but I made sure that I tacked on a few extra days in order to see the sights and go to some of the design centers and fabulous décor shops. Here are some of my favourite finds…

Drapery fabric by Quadrille, Interior designer unknown, image via House Beautiful
Quadrille Fabric has been getting a lot of positive press lately, and I needed to see the product in person. Let me just say that I was not disappointed! I quickly got an account and samples of the fabrics should be arriving to my Calgary interior design office shortly. I can hardly wait to use these cheerful prints in our projects.

Ironware International specializes in light fixtures and I was quite impressed by the quality and design of these fixtures. I will definitely be suggesting some of them for clients.
Craftsman Cabinet with lacquered finish by Lona Furniture
Pauline Inspired Recamier by Lona Furniture
Lona furniture had some pieces that really caught my eye and I was so pleased to find out that they are a Canadian company. Of course, I love supporting my fellow Canucks. This furniture is classic, timeless and superbly crafted.

These whimsical chandeliers are perfect for a little girl’s bedroom. They are so charming and just the perfect thing for a princess’ room. They are made by a company called Canopy Design Ltd.
Capuchine Pottery by Jonathan Adler
Positano pillow by Jonathan Adler
Walnut Desmond Screen by Jonathan Adler
Templeton Sofa by Jonathan Adler
Jonathan Adler’s shop is full of cheeky pottery, great pillows and accessories and vintage inspired furniture. I really liked his youthful approach to interior design.
As an owner of a Calgary interior design firm, it is really important that I travel to larger design centers so that I can keep up to date on current trends and new products. New York City was a treasure trove of new and exciting merchandise that we can use in our renovation or décor projects. The trip was a great success, and now Corea Sotropa Interior Design can get all of these wonderful items for our clients.
Cheers!
Jacqueline
