Thanksgiving is one of my most favourite holidays. I love getting together with cherished family and friends and sharing a feast of the season’s finest delicacies. For a special event like Thanksgiving, decorating and setting your table shows your guests that they are important and sets the mood for the evening. I have collected some great photographs to share with you illustrating a few ideas for setting your Thanksgiving table. I hope one of them inspires you to create a beautiful table scape that will wow your guests!

Create a dramatic floral display by using several differently-shaped vases with a different bloom in each vase. This is a really easy way to make a statement. Just remember to use lots of blooms, and choose a similar theme for all the vases.

The textures in this arrangement are wonderful and very autumnal. The feathers are unexpected and perfect for a modern table scape. You can easily pick up a variety of feathers at craft supply stores. I also adore the sprinkling of ornamental gourds, nuts and the sculptural alabaster urns.

This charming table includes family photographs. What a wonderful way to honour your guests and to express how beloved they are. It would be a great conversation piece too! Also, the pear name card holder is another great way to add personality to your table.

The roses, squash, leaves, branches and rustic tableware set a table that looks like it could be a still life! This arrangement works really well because of the variety of textures. Gorgeous! I would love to sit at this table for hours and just soak in my surroundings.

The color of the amber glass steals the show on this table. Using a single color will provide a lot of impact. This image also illustrates how simple white china can be completely transformed by adding an accent piece, like this amber glass bowl.

Many stores carry accessories, table linens and serving dishes that are perfect for Thanksgiving. These gourd shaped candles from Pottery Barn caught my eye.
Creating a Thanksgiving table scape takes some planning. Start thinking about your design now so that you have time to pick up any supplies, and set your table the night before the dinner. Making that extra effort will really impress your guests and help to make the event memorable.
This year I won’t be hosting Thanksgiving dinner. Our family all likes to host and we have to take turns, but I will be bringing my famous sweet potato and pecan casserole (a family favourite) and spending the day surrounded by people who I am so grateful for. It will be a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I hope yours is too.
Cheers!
